Design Engineer (w/m/d) for Power Transformers

About the Role

We are seeking a Design Engineer (w/m/d) for Power Transformers to join Siemens Energy in Dresden, Germany. In this role, you will perform calculations, develop designs for current- and voltage-carrying components, and collaborate with interface partners to create customized transformer designs that meet customer requirements. Your work will contribute to the reliable and efficient distribution of electrical energy, supporting the energy transition.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing active part components such as core, winding, and lead assembly, considering electrical, magnetic, mechanical, and thermal principles.
• Creating designs based on established manufacturing techniques, materials, international standards, and technical guidelines.
• Preparing documentation for production in coordination with procurement and manufacturing teams.
• Coordinating design specifics with project managers, order management, manufacturing technology, and procurement.
• Providing technical support during manufacturing and acting as a point of contact.
• Collaborating with R&D departments to develop transformer designs.
• Participating in the International Manufacturing Network.

Qualifications:

• Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Willingness to work independently and take responsibility.
• Basic knowledge of 3D CAD software.
• Experience with power transformers is an asset.
• Fluency in German and good command of English.
• Strong communication, analytical, team, and social skills.
