For the Compact Business Unit, Mechanical Systems Product Platform Compact Wheelloader in Konz, we are looking for a

Design Engineer Hydraulic Systems (f/m/d)

What you will do

At Volvo Construction Equipment Germany GmbH, you will contribute to transforming our company, the transport industry, and society at large.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

  1. Develop hydraulic systems for compact wheelloaders from initial concept to final documentation.
  2. Define and document hydraulic system requirements based on machine specifications.
  3. Configure and optimize hydraulic functions and integrate them into the vehicle.
  4. Perform and document risk assessments, such as FMEA.
  5. Support prototype building and hydraulic function adjustments on machines.
  6. Optimize selected components for quality, safety, and cost-efficiency.
  7. Communicate with project teams internally and externally as a key contact point.
Who are you?

In this role, you will bring:

  • A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • A high sense of responsibility and the ability to quickly learn new topics.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong team orientation, good self-management, and a willingness to share knowledge and develop yourself continuously.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5 or other CAD software and experience with Windchill or similar PDM systems.
  • Experience in developing mobile hydraulic systems.
  • Ideally, experience in construction equipment or agricultural machinery.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
