The City of Flensburg has a vacancy in the Legal Department at the earliest possible date for the position of
(Deputy) official data protection officer (m/f/d)
to be filled. The position is permanent and works 19.5 hours per week.
Remuneration is in accordance with pay group 11 TVöD.
The task of the Data Protection Officer (m/f/d) is to support and monitor compliance with data protection regulations at the City of Flensburg.
Your Tasks
- Informing and advising management and employees about the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation and other data protection regulations
- Monitoring and checking compliance with data protection regulations
- Working towards compliance with data protection regulations when introducing data processing procedures and during ongoing operations
- Advising the data controller on the design and selection of procedures for processing personal data
- Advising the data controller on the implementation of technical and organizational security measures
- Supporting and advising project and working groups on the topic of data protection, drafting and developing general and specialist data protection concepts, instructions and processes on the topic of data protection
- Advice on the documentation of processing activities
- Advice on data protection requirements in order processing contracts
- Advice in connection with the data protection impact assessment
- Tasks in connection with citizens' enquiries
- Cooperation with the supervisory authority
Your Profile- A successfully completed degree in law or
- a successfully completed degree in the field of IT (security), computer science or a comparable field (Bachelor, Diploma / Master) with several years of professional experience in a public administration or
- a successfully completed degree in the field of administrative sciences or general administration / public administration (Bachelor's / Diploma / Master's) or
- successful completion of the Administrative Examination II or exemption from the examination requirement or
- qualification for career group 2, 1st entry level or qualification level 3 or 3rd entry level.
In the case of foreign university degrees, the certificate evaluation from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) must be enclosed.
We Expect- A keen interest in data protection issues
- Basic knowledge of general and special data protection law, in particular knowledge of data protection regulations, data protection principles and data security / basic knowledge of IT security and information and telecommunications technology / or willingness to familiarize yourself with the area of responsibility through further training
- Ideally, you have practical experience in the field of data protection or information security
- Very good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to analyze and evaluate complex issues and work on them systematically and in a results-oriented manner
- Negotiating skills, persuasiveness and cooperation skills as well as strong teamwork skills, commitment and resilience paired with assertiveness and decisiveness
- Ability to confidently represent the interests required under data protection law in consulting and negotiation activities in areas with different interests, also vis-à-vis managers
- The ability to work independently and autonomously is a prerequisite
- Professional experience in public administration would be an advantage
