Jobbeschreibung

You will be responsible for developing and enhancing our software portfolio for our pioneering analysis devices. This enables researchers to visualize and analyze biological structures and interactions in unprecedented detail, particularly in the fields of neurology, immunology, and cancer research. You will also lead a cross-functional department and act as a key point of contact for our top management in our highly interdisciplinary environment.

People Management

• Lead a software development department with teams across several sites to create cutting-edge software products for cell analysis instruments or standalone solutions.
• Develop your department into a trusted partner for building complex systems, fostering the strengths of your team members, and building further synergies in collaboration and technology.
• Coach and motivate team leaders, project managers, architects, software developers, and verification engineers to improve their technical skills and competencies.
• Assign the right team members to projects.
• Recruit new talent to grow the team and meet project demands.

Portfolio Management

• Manage a software product portfolio to ensure that product releases align with roadmaps and development processes in scope, cost, time, and quality.
• Drive innovation and competitiveness of high-performance computing solutions while balancing and scaling agility, development processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate your software team into our Global Software Organization and cross-functional system development processes.
• Plan and monitor budgets and resources.
• Manage our Center of Excellence for image processing and algorithm development.

Strategic Impact

• As a part of our Global Software Leadership Team, you will play an active role in developing our Global Software Development Organization and achieving strategic goals.

Qualifications

• You have successfully completed a degree in computer science or a related natural science. While a Ph.D. would be preferred, it is not mandatory.
• You have a strong background in developing and managing software application portfolios. Ideally, you are proficient in imaging, spatial biology, flow cytometry, or next-generation sequencing. Alternatively, you may have experience in another high-performance computing area and wish to broaden your knowledge.
• Your extensive leadership experience, including managing other leaders, sets you apart. You enjoy both the big picture and technical details. You have strong communication skills that enable you to engage effectively with a wide range of people in our organization: CEO, senior management, project managers, engineers, and others.
• You have a background in software development with a strong preference for C. You also have hands-on experience with data science and analytics.
• Ideally, you have experience in software development within a regulated environment (e.g., medical standards such as IEC 62304).
