Overview

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all.

The Dentist handles all aspects of general dentistry, diagnosing and treating patients consistent with her/his training and expertise.

Work Schedule:

  • Tuesdays from 8:00am - 12:00pm

Evening and Weekend Shift Differential:

Evening and weekend shifts (4 hours) with direct patient contact include a 10% pay differential in addition to your regular pay. Evening differential is paid only for completed 4-hour shifts that begin after 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities
  • Providing preventative dental care and clinical dental services in a community health center setting.
  • Using EPIC, digital Dexis X-ray, and NextGen Electronic Health Records System.
  • Delivering high-quality care to patients.
  • Managing and directing staff assignments and activities in accordance with Marin Community Clinics, Dental Compliance Policies and Procedures, Dental Manual, and applicable California Laws.
  • Flexibility is a must; the Dentist may have to perform hygiene duties independently on an as-needed basis.
  • Expected to treat other patients that are on the clinic’s schedule in addition to treating assigned patients.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of ADA Accredited Dental School.
  • Must possess a valid DDS/DMD License to practice in California.
  • Active California Dental License & BLS Certification.
  • Active DEA License.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in general dentistry (GPR or AEGD a plus).
  • Prior experience working in a community health environment is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with children is preferred.
  • Oral surgery and Endodontics experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a bi-cultural dental clinic setting.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as necessary in either San Rafael and/or Novato clinics.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills to maintain and establish good relationships with the dental team and patients.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • May be required to occasionally lift at least 20 – 25 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and working on a computer.
