The Role

Seeking a Senior Data Center Technician who can drive the local execution of standardized workflows, triage unexpected anomalies and identify opportunities to scale as part of a DC Campus team. This person will work closely with the local Site Manager to mentor and grow the local team of Technicians, and communicate strategy, vision and feedback to the team and leadership. This technical expert is a resource for the team, a driven and motivated self-starter and able to work well with cross-functional partner teams to improve processes.

  • Act as a technical point of contact for data center incidents, escalations, and system retrofits.
  • Lead and mentor data center technicians, ensuring smooth daily operations and skill development.
  • Implement global standards and workflows at the local site based on organizational vision.
  • Manage server lifecycle tasks including upgrades, provisioning, OS rebuilds, and troubleshooting across hardware, network, and Linux systems.
  • Drive process improvements and automation, including tooling for diagnostics, deployment, and hardware decommissioning.
  • Create and maintain documentation for global data center operations and best practices.
  • Ensure safety and compliance by following protocols for equipment handling, cabling, and daily safety briefings.
  • Execute diagnostics and component replacements with minimal disruption and perform post-execution quality checks.
  • Support decommissioning and refresh activities such as memory upgrades and system rebuilds.
  • Foster team collaboration and communication through knowledge sharing, meetings, and status updates.
Ideal Profile
  • Extensive server hardware expertise with deep understanding of system and component-level failures and diagnostics.
  • Minimum 7+ years of hands-on data center technician experience, with strong ability to lead and mentor teams.
  • Proficient in failure analysis and server fleet health tracking, ensuring SLA adherence and proactive issue identification.
  • Advanced diagnostic skills, including IPMI tools, firmware updates, and software-based testing tools.
  • Skilled in both Windows Server and Linux environments, including PXE services, WinPE, and virtual machine setup.
  • Network troubleshooting knowledge across Layer 1, 2, and 3; CCENT / CCNA certification preferred.
  • Strong scripting ability with experience in PowerShell, Python, and Bash for automation and system tasks.
  • Experienced in real-time issue resolution during deployments and complex technical scenarios.
  • Familiar with industry certifications like CompTIA A+, Server+, MCP / MCSE; Associate degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • Works well independently and in cross-functional or remote teams, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
