Job Title: Data Center Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Engineer to join our team in Hanover. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and optimization of our data center infrastructure. You will work closely with IT and facilities teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of critical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain data center systems including servers, networking equipment, and cooling infrastructure
• Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and replacements
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power, cooling, connectivity, and hardware
• Implement and follow data center operational procedures and safety standards
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident response
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance and repairs
• Document system configurations, processes, and incident reports

Requirements:

• Proven experience in data center operations, infrastructure support, or a related IT field
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, server hardware, and facility systems
• Familiarity with data center monitoring tools and ticketing systems
• Ability to lift and move equipment, and work in physically demanding environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, or similar) are preferred
