Job Description
As a DCF Sales Engineer at Nokia, you will play a crucial role in driving the technical engagement and positioning of Nokia's Data Center Fabric (DCF) solution within cloud and enterprise organizations.
You are a seasoned presales engineer with a "can-do" mentality who challenges the status quo and thrives in navigating complex, fast-moving markets. Working closely with the Sales Team, you will leverage your deep technical expertise to lead architectural discussions, define solution strategies, and drive customer-facing engagements that highlight the differentiation and value of Nokia's solutions.
Your role will involve collaborating with customers, providing product demos, and driving technical conversations that lead to solution adoption. You will also serve as the primary interface between customer needs and Nokia's internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), guiding the customer through detailed product evaluations and ensuring optimal delivery of solutions.
Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Lead architectural discussions with customers, focusing on Nokia's datacenter fabric solution, integration and automation aspects and addressing their specific needs.
- Technical Expertise: Bring deep knowledge of datacenter network fabric architecture, network automation tools and follow trends such as fabrics for AI, EVPN overlay technologies.
- Sales Collaboration: Work in close partnership with the Sales Team (account managers) to effectively position and demonstrate the value of Nokia's DCF solutions.
- Product Demonstrations: Lead product demonstrations that highlight the unique aspects of Nokia's DCF offerings, showcasing industry-leading features.
- Opportunity Development: Detect customer opportunities, coordinate sales and technical engagements by involving the relevant consultancy and engineering teams, and follow-through towards commercial offer creation and efficient progression towards project handover.
- Market Engagement: Represent Nokia at conferences and industry events, engaging with potential customers, staying abreast of market trends, and showcasing Nokia's products in a public setting.
- Strategy Development: Capture strategic evolutions in the market, influence product developments, develop competitive knowledge and associated attack plans.
Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of data center protocols, network automation tools, and technologies such as BGP, EVPN, MPLS, Peering, SDN, and virtualization. Operational experience with Linux, DevOps tools (git, Ansible, Python) familiarity with cloud native and Ansible, Kubernetes, Python, Git), and networking OS (e.g., Nokia, Arista, Juniper, Cisco) is highly preferred.
- Communication Skills: Fluency in English is essential. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- People Skills: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization, from technical teams to executive leadership. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with and influence decision-makers are essential for success in this role.
- Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of experience in IP networking, with a strong background in selling and positioning datacenter networking equipment or associated technology. Proven experience in navigating complex enterprise organizations and introducing new products into the market.
- Work Environment: This role involves frequent customer-facing interactions, either over conference call or on site, thus requiring the ability to travel and adapt to a variety of customer needs.
