The Role:

AMD's Partner Support Field Applications Engineering Organization supports our OEM and ODM partners in defining and developing new platforms based on AMD technology. We are seeking a team member to support our lab infrastructure in Munich, which is essential for enabling development activities, performance assessments, and debugging efforts with our internal and external partners. The role involves working with our global and regional teams to define, plan, and execute lab infrastructure plans, ensuring systems are operational and support debug and development activities effectively.

  • Excellent problem-solving, time-management, prioritization, and organizational skills, capable of leading complex, multi-disciplinary, and multi-functional teams.
  • A collaborative colleague with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Outstanding communication skills and success in building strong technical relationships internally (Sales, Marketing, Engineering) and externally (OEM).
  • Attention to detail with excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (racking hardware).

Key Responsibilities:

Main focus: Knowledge of hardware and software ecosystems supporting lab needs, including desktop and server systems, networking, storage, system operations, debugging, and hardware repair. Experience with software and networking to configure and enable hardware for internal and remote access.

Responsible for strategy, procurement, and execution of lab priorities, including racking, stacking, maintaining systems, and providing components for rack and bench systems. Serve as a key enabler for regional resources by resetting systems, swapping parts, and scheduling server usage.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Defining lab strategy in collaboration with the team.
  • Managing CAPEX and OPEX expenses for the lab.
  • Driving activities to meet tactical and strategic goals.
  • Building and maintaining hardware ecosystems for internal and remote access.
  • Managing FAE NPI platforms, debug tools, and sample requirements.
  • Installing and testing solutions to ensure successful deployments.
  • Standardizing processes across global FAE Labs.
  • Leading technical planning sessions for lab development.
  • Providing hands-on technical support to the lab.
  • Representing the lab's capabilities to the FAE team.

Preferred Experience:

  • 7+ years of professional experience; management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with desktop and server hardware, software, operation, and debugging.
  • Expertise in major x86 OS and hypervisors.
  • Experience managing a data center or colocation facility.
  • Broad understanding of CPU and GPU technology.
  • Experience with enterprise-grade networking.

Academic Credentials:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science).
