The goal of our team is to provide our customers with the most relevant product recommendations. State-of-the-art data science models help us to generate the right recommendations for each user from over 18 million product variants. We share an enthusiasm for pairing and trying out new technologies and focus on pragmatic solutions. Was Dich erwartet:

• You will develop and improve algorithms and models for machine learning in order to optimize the recommendations on otto.de.
• Depending on the problem, you will choose from a wide range of state-of-the-art approaches, from rule-based approaches to transformer models.
• You will be involved in the entire conception, modeling and live deployment process and take responsibility for live operation together with the team.
• You will carry out feature engineering and implement models for delivery to our customers. You focus on increasing customer satisfaction on otto.de.
• You are always up to date with the latest research in data science and AI in order to continuously develop the product vision and design innovative features.
• You work closely with product managers, software engineers, data scientists & data analysts in a cross-functional team.
• You feel comfortable in a pragmatic and agile team and appreciate the value of pair programming.

• Several years of working experience with the full data science product lifecycle from conceptualization to production.
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with various machine learning algorithms.
• You are proficient in common data science tools in Python and familiar with frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• You have experience with cloud technologies and are keen to design and develop models for operation in AWS
• You are a team player who enjoys knowledge transfer and have an analytical and agile mindset
• Your language level German C1 (professional use of language) and English B2 (independent use of language)

• Completed Master's degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience.
• You are interested in functional programming with Clojure.
• You have experience in working with ranking or recommender systems.
• You are familiar with handling behavioral data in the context of e-commerce.
