Position Overview

The Data Scientist Operations plays a crucial role in optimizing production processes and productivity by applying data analytics and insights to solve business problems within the production environment. The role involves analyzing complex data sets, developing predictive models, and implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will work closely with business operations to communicate productivity insights through data and collaborate with IT teams to understand data, application, and infrastructure dependencies. A strong background in data structures, analytics, AI, and operational technology is essential, along with familiarity with OSISoft and Seeq solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with commercial, R&D, and process teams to identify pain points and opportunities using customer journey mapping and process analysis.
2. Propose and implement data-driven solutions, including proof of concept and experimentation.
3. Analyze complex data sets to uncover trends and generate actionable insights.
4. Integrate AI and data solutions into OT systems to improve automation, decision-making, and compliance.
5. Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
6. Partner with cross-functional teams, vendors, and OEMs to leverage OT and IT data sources.
7. Apply Agile principles, ensure standardization, documentation, training, and compliance with data and security standards.
8. Stay current with trends in data analytics, visualization, and OT technologies.

Required Skills and Experience

1. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL; familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
3. Understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, and R&D environments.
4. Experience with OT infrastructure (e.g., OSIsoft PI, MSSQL, Seeq) and data integration in complex environments.
5. Experience with Agile project management and the ability to work independently or in teams.
6. Ability to troubleshoot issues, manage stakeholders, and drive innovation.
7. Experience delivering compliant IT/OT systems in regulated environments.
