As a Data Scientist (f/m/d), you will build up cross-disciplinary expertise in the field of Digital Science at ITAS. The aim is to analyze large amounts of data and make them usable for technology assessment (TA). Specifically, you will have the following tasks:

You have a university degree (Master's) with a focus on quantitative analysis, computer skills, and data interpretation, such as data science, data analytics, digital humanities, computational social science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, computer science, computational science, information systems, operations research, or similar. Several years of professional experience in working with digital methods is required, ideally with NLP and ML libraries/packages to identify and categorize argumentation structures, content, and their authors. Knowledge of visualization and collection of web data (collection tools, scraping, APIs) is required. Experience with social network data and analysis and/or graph theory, article publishing and peer review, and knowledge of political systems and decision-making processes as well as experience working in trans- and/or interdisciplinary research projects are an advantage. You have strong communication skills and are open to an interdisciplinary working environment. Very good written and spoken German are an advantage, English is required.
