PAIR Finance is seeking a mid-level Data Scientist to join our Outbound Data Science team in Berlin. You will optimize our data-driven product using machine learning and AI, tackling challenging areas like Reinforcement Learning and Q-learning.

You will identify complex problems, structure solutions, and deliver impactful projects. A hybrid work setup, strong onboarding, and ongoing professional development are provided.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ideally in a startup or fintech company.
• Experience with Python and data processing packages (Pandas, NumPy).
• Familiarity with web frameworks like Flask or FastAPI.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Track record of successful ML projects solving business problems.
• Experience with Agile development practices such as TDD/BDD, CI, refactoring, code reviews, etc.
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills.

Your Responsibilities:

• work as part of our Outbound Data Science team to further optimize our innovative product based on machine learning and artificial intelligence

• communicate between all stakeholders (data scientists, lead developers, product management, business owners) and present technical product concepts

What we're looking for:

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ideally in a startup or fintech company
• experience with Python and with data processing packages (e.g. Pandas, Numpy)
• familiarity with web frameworks like Flask or FastAPI
• knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL

Things that will make you stand out:

• a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar
• experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g. pytorch, scikit-learn, transformers)
• hands‑on experience with deployment of (ideally open source) LLMs (hosting, fine‑tuning, prompt engineering, evaluation)
• experience with Reinforcement Learning
• experience with cloud‑based infrastructure solutions, such as AWS
