Your Role

You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the company's Data Compliance & Policies, Enterprise Data Management, and actively contribute to the success of the digital transformation at ZEISS. You will be part of a team that develops, implements, and ensures company-wide data policies and compliance frameworks in close collaboration with the Corporate Security & Data Protection Team, supporting our data governance roadmap aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.

In This Role You Will
  • Work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help enforce data management policies and ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations, establishing reporting on compliance KPIs across the data supply chain.
  • Assist in establishing standard operating procedures for data stewardship and ensure clear accountability throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Play a crucial role in rolling out ZEISS's global data strategy.
  • Define the cornerstones of a scalable data and analytics foundation to provide a superior customer experience and facilitate organizational implementation with our business units.

Alongside your team and colleagues, you will build our capability to stay at the forefront of digital innovation and ensure data-driven decisions benefit ZEISS and our customers.

Minimum Qualifications
  • An excellent university degree in computer science, business informatics, mathematics, law with a digital focus, or a related field.
  • First experience with responsibilities in data policy & compliance.
  • Proven knowledge of European data protection laws, including GDPR, and familiarity with international standards like ISO/IEC 27001. Data protection certifications are a plus.
  • Preferably experience in defining, documenting, and implementing data governance best practices, policies, and procedures in a large organization, especially in a regulated industry.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking, with the ability to understand multiple interdependencies.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and interact with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent English skills; German is recommended.
