C&A Mode GmbH & Co. KG is seeking a Data Platform Engineer in Düsseldorf to build and operate scalable data pipelines and a Snowflake-based data platform. You will manage data tools, drive platform reliability, and advance DataOps practices within an international retail environment.

• Cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake).

• Nice to have: dbt and streaming technologies like Kafka.

Your responsibilities

• Concept and operate scalable data pipelines and platform services
• Develop and maintain our Snowflake-based data platform
• Administer and operate data platform-related applications and tools (e.g. data integration, BI, data processing tools, data catalog tool)
• Ensure platform reliability, performance, observability and efficient resource usage (monitoring, alerting, SLA tracking)
• Establish and enforce DataOps and CI/CD practices for data workloads
• Enable self-service data usage through reusable platform capabilities
  Ownership of:
• Core components of the data platform and selected platform applications
• Platform stability, scalability and performance
• Engineering standards and best practices
• Enablement of internal data teams

What you bring

• Proven experience in data engineering or data platform engineering
• Strong expertise in at least one of the following areas
• Cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake)
• Data integration / ETL tools
• BI / analytics platforms
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills
• Experience with workflow orchestration
• Experience with CI/CD, Git and DevOps practices
• Understanding of data architecture, platform operations and observability
• Interest in modern data platform evolution
• Nice to have
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
• Experience with streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka)
• Experience with multi-tool platform environments (data + BI + integration)
• Exposure to data governance, lineage and data quality concepts
