The Pictet Group is a leading independent wealth and asset manager, founded in 1805 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with 30 offices worldwide and over 5,200 employees.

Technology & Operations (Tech & Ops) drives key innovations while sustaining business operations. Tech & Ops employs over 1,500 staff members and supports the Group's business lines, specifically Pictet Wealth Management (PWM) and Pictet Asset Services (PAS).

Following the successful establishment of the Bank's European headquarters in Frankfurt a. M., Pictet & Cie (Europe) AG (BPAG) seeks to enhance its Data Office team to strengthen the data value chain through close collaboration with the Group's Data Analytics team. Together you will support data-driven decision-making through indicators, dashboards and applications. Effective collaboration with stakeholders across BPAG and the Group is crucial for delivering valuable insights.

Your role

  • Data governance:
    • Operationalise BPAG's data governance framework and enhance standards for data management.
    • Work on enhancing processes and standards for managing critical data. Conduct evaluations for compliance with regulations such as DORA and FINMA Circular 23/1 on operational risks.
    • Support and lead data governance workshops and initiatives.
  • Data engineering:
    • Use SQL, Python, dbt, Prefect or other event-driven languages to establish and enhance data pipelines as part of our transformation.
    • Create or improve Tableau dashboards for all of BPAG's domains such as banking operations.
    • Automate and innovate reporting, data quality and governance-related processes.
    • Stay up to date on technology trends relevant to financial institutions and operations.
  • Data quality:
    • Drive data quality activities and implement respective processes to align with Group data quality and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct root cause analyses and assessments for improvement.
    • Use visualization tools to enhance data interpretation.
  • General responsibilities:
    • Coordinate data-related projects on data governance and quality.
    • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and support data-related training.
Your profile

  • Technical skills:
    • Proficiency in in SQL, Python and tools like dbt and Prefect, with knowledge of Snowflake.
    • Overall solid practical experience in data engineering or data science
    • Good understanding in data governance and quality best practices and data-driven activities
    • Understanding of data modelling and cleaning techniques.
  • Interpersonal skills:
    • Strong organisational and communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, pro-active and able to work independently in challenging environments.
    • Ability to build relationships and manage multicultural interactions.
    • Resilient under stress and willing to travel.
  • Qualifications and experience:
    • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
    • Professional certification (e.g., CDMP, CIMP) is a plus.
    • 5-7 years' experience in a similar position (Data Engineering, Data Quality or related field).
    • Excellent command of English, German and/or French is considered a plus.
