About the position

dSPACE AI unit is solving the data problem of AI. The tooling and services provided by dSPACE AI unit enable our customers to get the right data, at the right quality and right quantity to make production grade AI products a reality.

As a Data Engineer, you are responsible to deliver projects from start to finish. You solve technical challenges with code and non-technical issues by applying your people skills and process knowledge. You excite our customers with excellent data quality and help to make dSPACE solutions more accessible.

Your Tasks
  • As a member of a cross-functional team, you help kick-start our annotation projects and provide the results back to our customers
  • Close the loop between customers and our product development teams
  • Implement custom data importers and exporters, to support specific sensor (e.g. LiDAR, radar, camera, GNSS) and data (e.g. ROS) formats
  • Solve mathematical problems in code to enable the labelling process, e.g. working on sensor calibration or lens distortion issues, performing point cloud data transformations and visualizations, implementing tools for data quality validation
  • Collaborate across teams and departments to improve our product and share your insights from specific projects
  • Strive to automate all recurring aspects of your work
  • foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and trust within the team and beyond
  • ensure clear communication and collaboration between all team members and stakeholders
Your Qualifications
  • University degree in Computer Science (or related) or a proven track record as a software engineer
  • Excellent communicator, team player and actively seeking for information when needed
  • Solid experience in Python, including working with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas etc. (experience with libraries like OpenCV or Open3D is a plus)
  • Work in a self-dependent way with a strong focus on quality
  • Passionate about Clean Code Principles to produce high quality code
  • Familiar with linear algebra concepts like vectors, matrices & transformations and have the problem solving and coding skills to tackle related problems
  • Domain knowledge on ADAS/AD, ML/AI, computer vision and labeling is a plus
  • Very good English language skills are mandatory, German is an advantage
