Careerwise is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering team in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, helping to build a modern data lake architecture. You will design and implement data pipelines, take ownership of data quality, and contribute to governance and cataloguing efforts.

The role also involves leading and coaching the Data and BI Developers, and building automated deployment pipelines to ensure robust data delivery across the organisation.

Qualifikationen

• Senior-level experience as a Data Engineer, with lake/lakehouse architecture preferably.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Working knowledge of data governance and DLP tooling, ideally Microsoft Purview.
• Solid SQL and data pipeline/ETL development skills.
• Experience with data quality remediation in complex multi-source environments.
• Ability to collaborate across data analytics, engineering and architecture functions.

You will be responsible for:

• Designing and building data pipelines to load and transform data into the company's central data lake
• Taking ownership of data quality and resolving existing data quality issues
• Setting up a data governance framework and defining the data catalogue
• Leading and coaching an existing team of Data and BI Developers
• Building automated deployment pipelines

Required Experience

• Proven senior-level experience as a Data Engineer, ideally working with lake or lakehouse architectures
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Working knowledge of data governance and DLP tooling, ideally including Microsoft Purview
• Solid SQL and data pipeline/ETL development skills
• Experience with data quality remediation in complex, multi-source environments
• Ability to collaborate across data analytics, engineering and architecture functions within an organisation
• Any SAP experience would be beneficial
• Professional proficiency in both German and English
