Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Critical Facilities Engineer to join our Frankfurt Critical Facilities Team at FR11. This shift role is vital in maintaining our critical infrastructure. As an Engineer reporting to our Critical Facilities Team, you will have extensive data center experience and strong technical knowledge of data center critical infrastructure. Your responsibilities include performing semi-routine maintenance and repairs, coordinating with vendors, and supporting site administration.

You will complete work orders, collaborate on infrastructure projects, and be involved in decision-making related to vendor and contractor management. Additionally, you will assist senior staff and mentor new and entry-level team members, sharing your expertise to foster growth. Responsibilities:

  • Facility Maintenance: Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on facility systems.
  • Repairs and Inspections: Conduct repairs, installations, and inspections of facility components; support energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Vendor Support: Manage work approval processes, ensure maintenance follows procedures, and update technical documentation with vendors.
  • Site Administration: Maintain logs for permits, identify SPOFs, manage incidents, and support health, safety, and compliance audits.
  • Incident Response: Respond effectively to on-site incidents, utilizing understanding of operating procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work with team members to resolve incidents, mentor on maintenance activities, and manage inventory needs.
  • Supervision and Guidance: Supervise junior staff, providing instructions and guidance on tasks and new assignments.
  • Change Management: Oversee change control processes, ensuring approvals, adherence to deadlines, and minimal disruption.

Requirements:

  • Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English and German.
  • Educational Background: Vocational training as an electrician, electronics technician, energy electronics technician, refrigeration and air conditioning technician, or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Intermediate/high-level knowledge of critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, HVAC, CRAH units, safety systems) and hands-on maintenance experience.
    • Experience in maintaining and managing databases for maintenance logs and safety testing documentation.
  • Customer Service: Self-motivated, flexible, and able to communicate effectively with customers.
  • Shift Work: Willingness to work 24/7 shifts.
