Position

We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder. If you like to apply your electrical and mechanical skills to solve problems, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help to maintain one of the world\'s largest information system infrastructures.

Key job responsibilities
  • Safety — Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
  • Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance — Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPSs, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATSs, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers.
    • Troubleshoot events within internal SLA
    • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/logs (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
    • Supervise contractors or Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment
    • Drive continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics
    • Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and assist in recruiting efforts
    • Lead root cause analysis for operational issues, and conduct meetings with subject matter experts to finalize mitigation strategies
Physical requirements
  • Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
  • Ability to work in shifts (morning, late, and night)
  • On-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls
  • Work at heights and from ladders; in a noisy environment with ear protection
  • Perform physical tasks during the shift
