What you will do

As an SGSC Operations Incident Response Manager, you will be responsible for managing the triaging of security alerts detected by Enterprise Detection and SIEM, analyzing data to determine if a cyber-attack is occurring, scoping the extent of suspected attacks, coordinating containment efforts, performing forensic investigations, and guiding remediation actions.

  • Manage incident response duties as part of the Global SGSC Incident Response team.
  • Provide timely updates to SAP leadership and stakeholders.
  • Determine attack scope and perform root cause analysis using forensic methods.
  • Partner with internal teams to review monitoring requirements and create detection alerts.
  • Develop automated workflows to reduce detection and response times.
  • Review and close resolved cybersecurity incidents.
  • Review current incident response workflows and recommend improvements.

What you bring

Effective incident management requires a clear understanding of the incident response process, overseeing each stage to resolve incidents quickly and minimize impact. Communication and coordination with stakeholders, including IT, security teams, and legal, are crucial.

Responsibilities include overseeing incident management, handling various incident types, initiating response procedures, and stakeholder communication. Managing these effectively is vital for business continuity.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, file systems, memory forensics, database and web security, cloud security.
  • Strong technical understanding of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of risk management, mitigation, and incident response frameworks.
  • Experience communicating with senior management.
  • Understanding of laws and regulations related to incident response and data privacy.

You will manage the EMEA Incident Response team, consisting of IR Analysts and Investigators, based in Walldorf, Germany, participating in our Return to Office Program.
