Zusammenfassung

Solaris in Berlin seeks a Security Engineer to strengthen our fintech platform. You will conduct regular security assessments, drive vulnerability management, and help shape security policies for digital financial services.

You will mentor engineers, ensure regulatory compliance, lead incident investigations, and stay ahead of industry trends, collaborating with teams to embed security into product development and disaster recovery planning.

German language skills are a plus; English is mandatory.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years in cybersecurity or software engineering in a high-growth environment.
• Degree in CS, IT, cybersecurity or equivalent.
• Experience within Solaris core tech stack.

Aufgaben

• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures and standards specific to fintech and digital financial services.
• Provide guidance and training to engineers and staff on security best practices and industry trends.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate security considerations in development and deployment of new financial services and systems.
• Lead incident investigations related to digital financial services and financial data breaches and provide reports to management.
• Research and stay current on industry security trends and technologies specific to fintech and digital financial services.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial data protection regulations and standards.
• Provide oversight and guidance to other security team members to ensure they are meeting responsibilities related to financial data protection.
• Contribute to incident response and disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Take ownership of the tech responsibilities as described in our Change Management Policies.

Your Role

• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures and standards specific to fintech and digital financial services.
• Provide guidance and training to other engineers and staff on security best practices and industry trends.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate security considerations in the development and deployment of new financial services and systems.
• Lead incident investigations related to digital financial services and financial data breaches and provide reports to management.
• Research and stay current on industry security trends and technologies specific to fintech and digital financial services.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial data protection regulations and standards.
• Provide oversight and guidance to other security team members to ensure they are meeting their responsibilities related to the protection of financial data in digital systems
• Contribute to incident response and disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Owners of this function make sure, that they follow the defined Policies & Procedures for the institution (which includes explicit processes defined for Tech, which are properly defined in the respective confluence spaces).
• Take ownership of the tech responsibilities as described in our Change Management Policies.

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or equivalent professional experience.
• You have spent 2+ years in Cybersecurity or Software Engineering roles in a high-growth environment.
• Has proven experience within our core tech stack.
• Understands agile workflows and lean principles.
• Business proficient written and spoken English. German language skills is a plus.
• Proactive team player who actively drives the growth of those around you. With a structured, hands‑on approach and genuine curiosity, you're a constant learner who openly shares knowledge with the team.
• Creative and self‑reflective, and you bring an agile mindset to everything you do.
