Job Description:

Managers of Student Learning & Development (MSLD) serve as the primary leaders for all of LSU CxC’s student-facing programs. MSLDs develop co-curricular multimedia learning resources, lead in- and out-of-class workshops, train/mentor a student workforce of peer communication coaches, and contribute to the strategic planning of university-wide communication-intensive initiatives. CxC supports C-I teaching and learning within all disciplines across the Institution through in-class and out-of-class workshops, e-learning resources, individual and small-group coaching/feedback sessions, and interactive learning spaces. MSLDs develop and deliver all these components to meet student learning needs, contexts, and levels. Additionally, MSLDs model and foster a professional, client-centered environment; support the interviewing, selection, and ongoing performance management of the Peer Communication Coaches, and ensure ongoing high-quality service delivery.

Mentoring LSU Distinguished Communicator Medal Candidates (20%):

This University student recognition program is managed by the MSLDs. Primary activities include developing resources and leading workshops and small group coaching sessions for undergraduate students pursuing the Medal; reviewing and giving feedback to candidates on their portfolio websites; supporting the training of faculty advisors and review panelists; planning and executing the semesterly medal ceremony; and contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of the Medal program.
