Role Overview:

As a Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist, you will manage all customs procedures, including import/export processes, preference checks, and assigning customs and tax codes. You will ensure compliance with export, import, and customs laws in the countries of operation, focusing on Germany. You will collaborate with internal teams and support the order handling team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain export compliance documentation and processes
• Ensure adherence to trade regulations and implement directives from authorities
• Monitor global trade regulation changes and coordinate compliance initiatives

Regulatory Interface & Compliance Management:

• Serve as primary liaison with authorities like BAFA, managing inquiries, license applications, and classifications using ELAN-K2 platform
• Oversee export licensing processes
• Act as point of contact for customs and export control with partners and government agencies

Process Improvement & Training:

• Identify opportunities to enhance export control processes
• Provide training across organizational levels

Qualifications:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in business administration, international relations, logistics, or related field

Certifications: FTA, NAFTA, AEO, HTS, C-TPAT, EAR, ITC, or similar

Experience: At least 2 years in export trade compliance or related industry, with practical customs documentation experience

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle

Knowledge of HS codes and customs classification

Language Skills:

Fluent in English (C1/C2), conversational German (B2)
