Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to shape the future of greener shipping? Höegh Autoliners is seeking a Customer Sustainability Engagement Manager to strengthen our engagement with customers, align sustainability communication, and drive strategic collaboration towards a more sustainable maritime industry.

Purpose: Support the acceleration and promotion of the uptake of Höegh Autoliners' greener shipping solutions for customers.

Reporting to: Chief Customer Sustainability Officer

Based in: Hamburg, Germany

Key Responsibilities:

Drive sustainability initiatives

  • Develop and maintain a database for customer sustainability roadmaps, scope 3 targets, and relevant customer data to enable green business development. Increase engagement with both existing and potential customers on sustainability topics.
  • Support the conceptualization and implementation of sustainable logistics initiatives for existing and future products and customer portfolios.
  • Work closely with Sales, Strategy, Digital, and Trade teams to support the development of commercially viable, greener service offerings.
  • Support internal education around sustainability via webinars, FAQs, and townhalls.

Research, analysis & industry collaboration

  • Track and analyze customer sustainability trends, ESG requirements, and reporting needs.
  • Map customer Scope 3 decarbonization targets against Höegh's sustainability solutions.
  • Identify and prioritize industry collaboration opportunities, such as Smart Freight Centers and Green Corridors.

Customer engagement & collaboration

  • Support the Chief Customer Sustainability Officer in strengthening relationships with key customers' sustainability teams and decision-makers, and in standardizing our messaging on sustainability matters within customer meetings.
  • Collaborate with Communications, Regulatory Affairs, and Corporate Reporting teams to refine messaging and create compelling content.
  • Support Sales with relevant sustainability materials and Q&A.

As the right-hand to the Chief Customer Sustainability Officer, you will play a key role in delivering Höegh Autoliners' sustainability strategy by collecting and analyzing global customer and industry ESG trends.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Sustainability, preferably in the automotive industry and/or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of current and future sustainability developments impacting the automotive and marine shipping industries.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong data affinity for handling, interpreting, and applying emissions data and allocation.
  • A commercial mindset.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Technical understanding of ship engines, fuels, and related emissions is an advantage.
  • Structured, results-driven, with a hands-on approach and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
