You want to play a key role in shaping our platform, our tech strategy, and internal processes to drive the growth of RaiseNow, an innovative Tech4Good company.
Join us as our CTO and drive the direction and success of RaiseNow using your knowledge and understanding of architecture, compliance, scalability, and infrastructure. You are responsible for developing a sustainable and scalable software as a service (SaaS) product for organizations and charitable giving in Europe.
Our tech department currently consists of 5 cross-functional teams and 25 engineers in over 7 countries. In our remote-first setup, we cherish our strong team spirit and believe work can be both meaningful and fun.
Your mission
- Shape our tech strategy: You further develop, implement, and live RaiseNow's tech strategy and bring it to the tech teams.
- Prepare our platform for scaling and growth: You balance tech debt and agile product development to continuously improve our platform.
- Be responsible for the software architecture of RaiseNow: You oversee the technical development and make decisions to ensure we efficiently develop products according to our vision and continuously reduce inefficiencies and technical debt.
- Manage performance of our platform and technical risks, which means establishing missing processes or improving existing ones.
- Be a great communicator: You work closely with our Head of Product, CEO, COO, and other internal departments, and you also represent RaiseNow externally to partners, stakeholders, at events, and more.
- Live and shape our tech culture: You are a strong advocate of knowledge sharing, ownership, and have high-quality standards, which you carry in our Tech Department. You inspire our engineers to continuously improve our product.
Your profile
- You are experienced as a CTO or in a similar position where you demonstrated strong leadership skills and were involved in strategic decisions of the company.
- You have in-depth knowledge of the European payment domain.
- You keep up with the latest technological trends to build RaiseNow's Tech strategy.
- You have accompanied a company through a phase of rapid growth and know what decisions are needed to scale a platform.
- You have experience in a B2B SaaS company balancing tech debt and agile product development.
- You have a strong understanding of budgets and business planning to ensure our infrastructure is optimized for performance and costs.
- You have experience in a regulated environment and with certifications such as PCI DSS, GDPR, or ISO/SOC.
- You are able to conduct technological analyses and research to continuously advance our architecture.
- Strong command of English (C1/C2).
- PHP 7.4, Symfony 4.4 (yes, we're about to upgrade).
- Ruby 3.04, Ruby on Rails 6.1 (moving to 7 in Q4 2024).
- Behat, PHPUnit, PHPSpec for different use cases in the services.
- Docker containers on AWS ECS Fargate.
- Selected AWS services (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS).
- CI/CD through Bitbucket pipelines.
- ElastiCache, Route53, CloudFront.
