Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Customer Engineer in Germany to partner with technical sales teams and differentiate Google Cloud for startups and enterprises. You will design cloud solutions, engage in proof-of-concepts, and help customers understand and adopt cloud-native architectures, containers, and AI-enabled apps.

In this role, you will collaborate with product marketing and engineering teams, tackle technical questions, and ensure solutions meet customer business requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience with cloud native architecture and development methodologies, including modernizing legacy applications and performance tuning.
• Experience engaging with technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify business opportunities and develop a technical win strategy for cloud native architecture.
• Educate startups and scaleups on Google Cloud value and lead architectural discussions for adoption of GCP.
• Collaborate with sales to formulate and execute a plan to exceed revenue objectives with GCP.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop technical campaigns and drive pipeline creation.
• Build deep relationships with executive technical stakeholders to advocate cloud solutions.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience with cloud native architecture and development methodologies, including modernizing legacy applications and application performance profiling and tuning, in a customer-facing or support role.
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in technical sales or consulting in cloud computing, application development and cloud native architectures.
• Experience in assessing and building cloud native software architectures including application runtimes, databases, serverless environments, container and Kubernetes stacks and event-driven designs.
• Expertise in the area of application development for AI use cases, including the integration with AI (via APIs or MCP), the integration with agents (Agent Development Kit or Agent2Agent Protocol) or the deployment of AI-empowered apps.
• Expertise with open source technology (e.g., CNCF projects) and understanding of cloud native application development or data analytics technologies.

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical sales teams as a hybrid cloud subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers in the Startup ecosystem. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understanding the power of Google Cloud, develop cloud solutions and architectures to solve business issues, engage in proof-of-concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will understand customers business and technical requirements, and present solutions on Google Cloud. You will work in a data center environment as it relates to modernization, and cloud-native architecture. You will also work with cloud application architectures, networking, microservices, and container orchestrators.
