Responsibilities

• Cleaning, sanitizing, emptying trash, and restocking public restrooms.
• Cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash and recyclables.
• Scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors using a heavy power scrubber and buffer.
• Washes walls using powered washing machines or by hand.
• Vacuums/cleans rugs and carpets with a heavy vacuum cleaner.
• Adjusts, cleans, and oils machines and changes brushes, rollers, buffers and attachments.
• Moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment.
• Occasionally works on ladders and scaffolds to change light bulbs and wash walls.
• Keeps shop areas clean and in order.
• Sweeps and wets mops floors and handles spills and wastes.
• Operates light duty motor vehicles up to 10,000 pounds to transport personnel, material, or equipment within the park.

Summary

You will serve as a Custodial Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator) (Seasonal). The primary purpose of the work is custodial and janitorial work such as sweeping, scrubbing and waxing floors, washing windows and walls, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures. Expected entry on duty: April 2027. Open to the first 80 applicants or until 10/26/2026 whichever comes first.

Major Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Cleaning, sanitizing, emptying trash, and restocking public restrooms. Cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash and recyclables. Scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors using heavy (industrial type) power scrubber and buffer. Washes walls using powered wall washing machines and/or by hand. Vacuums/cleans rugs, carpets, etc. using heavy vacuum cleaner. Adjusts, cleans, and oils these machines and changes brushes, rollers, buffers, and other attachments. Moves heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment. Occasionally works on ladders and scaffolds to change light bulbs, wash walls, etc. Keeps shop areas clean and in order. Sweeps and wet mops floor and removes various liquid and solid wastes, spills, etc. On a regular and recurring basis operates light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, flatbed trucks, 5-yard dump trucks, etc.) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work site located in the park.
