Zusammenfassung

kiutra is seeking a Cryo Engineer to advance magnetic cooling systems for applied quantum technologies, from simulation to hardware prototypes and production readiness. You will contribute to R&D efforts in magnetic refrigeration for quantum tech alongside a diverse, international team.

The role requires a PhD or Master’s with 3–5 years of relevant experience, expertise in cryogenic hardware, CAD proficiency, and FEM analysis. On-site in Munich with English fluency and German a plus.

Qualifikationen

• PhD or a completed Master’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in physics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field
• Hands-on experience in cryogenic engineering (e.g. ADR, dilution refrigerators, pulse tube coolers) and/or in applied quantum technology (e.g. quantum computing hardware) including mechanical, thermal, and magnetic design aspects
• Proficient with CAD software for designing and iterating mechanical assemblies through to production readiness
• Experience with FEM simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS, COMSOL) for mechanical, thermal, and/or magnetic analysis
• Ideally, experience with PLM systems and with quality control and release processes in a hardware development environment
• Structured, self-driven way of working – you keep track of multiple parallel work packages and timelines
• Fluent English, particularly for engaging with international partners and funding agencies; German language skills are a plus. On-site presence in Munich.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Cryo Engineer (f/m/d) who is eager to drive the development of our magnetic cooling systems for applied quantum technologies – from simulation through hardware prototyping to production readiness.
