Full Time (40 hours/week)

Summary:

Provide orientation services to US servicemembers, civilians, and their families through the ACS Relocation Program, including Host Nation Orientation, Cultural Adaptation walking tours, translations, and language classes for the USAG Wiesbaden Community.

Qualifications:
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Knowledge of German customs, culture, and language
  • Minimum of one year recent work or volunteer experience in Family Service Programs or German tourism
  • Ability to give orientation, information, and guidance about life in Germany to newcomers
  • Experience in conducting briefings, trainings, preparing formal and informal correspondence, and creating lesson plans
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Internet, and email
  • Flexible working hours, including some evenings
  • Knowledge of US Army Regulations is highly desirable but not necessary
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct weekly Host Nation Orientation briefings and walking tours, explaining area information, cultural differences, and public transportation use.
  2. Assist in setup, registration, and preparation for briefings.
  3. Conduct additional tours and cultural programs to educate the community, focusing on transportation, local dining, and recreational activities.
  4. Coordinate schedules and inform participants and agencies of event details or cancellations.
  5. Provide virtual tours and in-house presentations in case of weather restrictions.
  6. Develop knowledge of host nation information, procedures, and requirements.
  7. Provide basic German language classes and ESL courses, scheduling sessions as specified.
  8. Be available to answer questions about the host nation and provide translation services as needed.
Additional Information:

This position is not eligible under the NATO SOFA articles 72 or 73.
