Hello, we’re PHONT, an innovative startup based in Frankfurt. Our mission is to revolutionize subtitles by integrating auditive nuances directly into the visual experience. Using advanced AI and design, we’re making subtitles more dynamic, expressive, and inclusive.

We’re looking for a Creative Coder who will play a key role in building the heart of PHONT: the visual output derived from our audio analysis data. As a crucial bridge between Freddi’s design vision and Marcello’s audio analysis expertise, you will help bring our product vision to life, creating stunning and intuitive user experiences.

The position would probably start in march.

Tasks

• Develop and implement visually compelling, parametric type and motion design features to visually represent audio data.
• Collaborate closely with designers and backend engineers to turn ideas into code-based visual outputs, like animation.
• Prototype and test innovative solutions for visualizing audio nuances in real time.
• Optimize code for performance, ensuring seamless integration across platforms and devices.

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in Media Informatics, Communication Design, or equivalent practical experience in visual programming.
• Proficiency in creative coding tools and languages (e.g., p5.js, Three.js, Processing, OpenFrameworks, or similar).
• A strong understanding of data visualization techniques and user experience design.
• The eye and the knowledge for clean type and motion design
• A collaborative spirit and openness to working in an interdisciplinary team.

Nice-to-haves (not required):

• Experience with sound-reactive generative design.
• Experience with building video-platforms and rendering
