Job summary

DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH in Langen, Hessen, Germany, seeks a qualified Course Leader and Instructor for Air Traffic Control training. You will deliver theoretical and practical training, independently prepare teaching materials, and ensure high-quality initial and continuation courses while supporting trainees throughout their professional journey.

You bring extensive Air Traffic Controller experience, including On-the-Job and Simulator Instructor roles, plus strong English and German

Qualifications

• Fully trained Air Traffic Controller with several years of On-the-Job and Simulator Instructor experience.
• Extensive cross-unit knowledge of procedures and systems in air traffic services.
• Instructor qualifications such as OJTI and/or advanced instructor qualifications.
• Fluent in English and German, or willingness to develop German to at least B1.

Responsibilities

• Deliver theoretical and practical training and independently prepare training materials and teaching aids.
• Ensure quality of initial and continuation training and contribute to examinations and assessments.
• Be primary contact for participants and address conflicts to support resolution.
• Develop targeted support measures and identify development opportunities for participants.
• Develop learning objectives, training content, teaching methods, and materials for ATC training programs.
• Contribute to modernisation of training portfolio through development projects.
• Support other DFS Academy departments in training activities and expand instructional expertise.

• You deliver theoretical and practical training and independently prepare training materials and teaching aids, including training manuals, learning resources, assignments, and examinations
• You ensure the quality of initial and continuation training and contribute to the development, review, correction, and evaluation of examinations and assessments
• You act as the primary contact person for participants in your assigned courses and address social conflicts proactively and professionally to support their resolution
• You develop targeted support measures for individual course participants, identify development opportunities and potential, and assess participants’ capabilities
• You independently develop learning objectives, training content, teaching methods, and instructional materials for Air Traffic Controller training and development programmes
• You contribute to the further development and modernisation of the training portfolio through methodological, didactic, and technical development projects
• You support other departments in theoretical and practical training activities at the DFS Academy and continuously expand your professional and instructional expertise

• You are a fully trained Air Traffic Controller and bring extensive professional experience, including several years of experience as an On-the-Job and Simulator Instructor
• You have extensive cross-unit experience and in-depth knowledge of operational procedures and systems within air traffic services
• You demonstrate outstanding methodological and didactic expertise, supported by instructor qualifications such as OJTI and/or advanced instructor qualifications
• You communicate confidently in English and German, both written and spoken, or you are willing to actively develop your German language skills to at least B1 level

Working closely with fellow instructors and subject-matter experts, you will contribute your operational expertise, teaching skills and ideas to continuously enhance our training programmes and support trainees on their professional journey.
