POSITION SUMMARY

The Group Country Manager DACH will be directly responsible for all commercially related activities within the territory of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH). This includes the development of strategic plans, tactical initiatives, personnel management, and close communication and cooperation with interdepartmental stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of Oncology-related Sales and Marketing experience in commercializing Oncology Pharma products and/or molecular diagnostics/IVD in the DACH region and a proven track record of delivering results in a timely and efficient manner.

Previous experience as a Country Manager or an equivalent position is strongly preferred.

This position will report to the Senior Director Europe Direct.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide effective leadership and strategic direction for DACH in advancing our corporate presence and widening the market for Exact Sciences portfolio. This role will be responsible for all commercialization activities in DACH including strategy, marketing, sales, governmental affairs, country-specific operations, and reimbursement.
  • Responsible for managing the region-specific P&L.
  • Consistent demonstration of exceptional leadership qualities including but not limited to the ability to attract and retain the best team, foster a culture of high performance, lead with integrity, humility, accountability, and courage, and set a clear vision to energize teams towards the future.
  • Lead the commercial team in DACH including ongoing performance appraisals and management, target setting, personnel selection, retention initiatives, and mentoring new personnel as appropriate. Ensure effective teamwork and collaboration with headquarter colleagues, consultants, and vendors to support business objectives.
  • The Country Manager will develop and execute on country-specific strategic and tactical plans that are prioritized to maximize opportunity through focused resourcing.
  • Further build an effective team of employees, consultants, and vendors to support business objectives. Also work closely with relevant departments within Exact Sciences.
  • Develop relationships with key customers, KOLs, and other relevant stakeholders to support successful business growth. Establish key partnerships to maximize our business opportunity.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Societies and Regional Authorities to support patient access for Exact Sciences products.
  • Provide input to the overall long-range and operating corporate plans. The input will be the basis for forecasts and resource allocation.
  • Work closely with relevant functions within Exact Sciences such as Communications, Regulatory Affairs, Medical, Legal, HR, and Finance.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the market and environmental landscape by gathering competitive intelligence and incorporating it into both short and long-term corporate plans.
  • Monitor key sales metrics and direct sales activities as needed to achieve business goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 years of Oncology-related Sales and Marketing experience with international pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or lab corporation; several years as Country Manager preferred.
  • Advanced degree required; MBA or PhD strongly preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of commercialization of Oncology products and/or molecular diagnostics in the country. IVD experience considered a plus.
  • Proven track record leading personnel with both direct and indirect reporting lines and demonstrated leadership in working with cross-functional departments in an international environment.
  • Experience as Country Manager and in Market Access, reimbursement, and contracting strongly preferred.

TRAVEL / LOCATION

  • Travel Requirements: 30% Travel.
