We are seeking applications from an experienced construction-based Cost Manager to join our team of experts in the Cologne / Duesseldorf area.

Job Objectives

  1. Pre and post-contract duties including preparation of cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
  2. Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
  3. Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  4. Tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
  5. Taking responsibility for timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
  6. Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
  7. Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  8. Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
  9. Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
  10. Maintain central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contribute to updating of best practices in estimating.

Qualifications

  1. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management / quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle.
  3. Experience of leading cost management commissions for large construction projects of high complexity.
  4. Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters.
  5. English skills are required as well as basic German skills (min. B1), and willingness to improve the German language skills.
  6. Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  7. Sound organisational skills; ability to multi-task and be a team player.
  8. Working knowledge of MS Office software and tools.
  9. Working knowledge of cost databases and / or estimating software is advantageous.
