Cost Engineer - Germany - 18 month contract

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical client based in the surroundings of Germany. Due to a large capital investment and multiple projects on site, the client is looking for a Cost Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for management, budgeting & cost control, financial management, change management and risk management.
  2. Develop / implement and maintain the Project Baseline Budgets incl Control Account.
  3. Responsible for the monitor, control and validation of project’s accruals and commitments and the control of resource and financial forecast data.
  4. Management and control of cost risk budget and draw down and input into the risk management process.
  5. Management and control of financial change management on the project and assurance of alignment with the business/contractual requirements.
  6. Provision of internal and external financial performance & cost reports including earned value and variation analysis.
Key requirements include:
  1. Significant experience of applying budgeting and cost control in a complex environment.
  2. Extensive recent and relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector.
  3. Awareness of various contracting methodologies.
  4. Advanced knowledge of cost management techniques.
  5. Advanced knowledge of Earned Value Management.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
