Corporate Sustainability & ESG Manager (m/f/x)
The position:
We are seeking a forward-thinking and quality-driven individual to support our sustainability department at a European level. Your main responsibilities will include implementing and expanding ESG projects to achieve the company's global sustainability vision. This cross-functional coordination role requires collaboration with various functions across Europe and globally. Reporting to the Director of Sustainability, one of your primary tasks will be implementing CSRD and EU Taxonomy requirements, but also include various other sustainability-related projects.
Join us as a passionate Corporate Sustainability & ESG Manager (m/f/x) to drive our sustainability initiatives and promote a culture of sustainability within the organization.
Role & responsibilities:
Actively support and lead various sustainability projects in all three ESG areas: environment, social/employees, and the implementation of existing as well as upcoming requirements on sustainability.
You will have a strong role in creating a strategic roadmap, implementing the requirements, and setting up necessary internal structures and processes for various projects, especially related to EU requirements on sustainability reporting (CSRD, Taxonomy).
Independently conduct benchmarks in the sustainability area, evaluate and analyze the results, deduct specific actions, and identify emerging trends.
Identify potential issues and proactively seek creative solutions in the projects assigned to you.
Proactively collaborate across functions within the company (Europe and Japan); drive, discuss, and align on ESG projects.
Utilize creativity and provide innovative suggestions to advance the sustainability agenda.
Work in a virtual matrix organization with stakeholders at various levels (local, regional, corporate, global in Europe, Japan, and US).
Professional experience & education:
University degree (Master or diploma) in sustainability, business administration, social sciences, or similar.
5-6 years of proven professional experience in sustainability and ESG management, with a strong understanding of current and upcoming sustainability requirements.
Experience with sustainability reporting, frameworks, and requirements, especially CSRD and EU Taxonomy.
Strong strategic thinking and project management skills, with experience in cross-functional roles, preferably in an international group setup.
Entrepreneurial thinking, good comprehension, structured working style, high initiative, and service mentality.
Proven ability to work interdisciplinarily, team-oriented, responsible, committed, willing to travel occasionally.
Willingness to learn and proactively take on new tasks and challenges.
Strategic mindset with operational capability.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, effective with diverse teams.
