We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Strategy & M&A Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and strategic advisory services.

The Corporate Development & M&A Lead serves as a strategic partner to the CEO, responsible for driving inorganic growth, advising on strategic priorities, and managing the M&A agenda end-to-end. This senior role combines thought partnership, transaction execution, and business unit engagement, with the leadership of a small, high-performing team of experts.

You will directly report to the CEO and closely work with other Board members to identify opportunities, drive strategy development, conduct thorough due diligence, and facilitate successful strategic project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape and Drive Corporate Strategy: Lead the development and continuous refinement of Riverty’s long-term strategic direction in collaboration with the Board. Support business and functional units in developing strategies and driving strategic initiatives that strengthen innovation, performance, and business model evolution.
  • Lead M&A Execution End-to-End: Oversee the full M&A lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to integration. Provide strategic guidance on buy- and sell-side deals, manage due diligence with cross-functional teams, and create investment cases and executive-level presentations that support decision-making in close collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Enable Cross-Functional Strategy Execution: Translate strategy into action by leading selected high-impact initiatives across the organization. Collaborate with all other relevant functions to ensure successful execution, and facilitate key steering formats such as Quarterly Business Reviews and strategic planning cycles.
  • Deliver Strategic Insights & Market Foresight: Continuously monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics. Synthesize insights into actionable recommendations that inform Riverty’s growth agenda and position the company ahead of the curve.
  • Engage and Align Key Stakeholders: Build strong internal relationships across all leadership levels and serve as the primary liaison to external M&A and strategy advisors. Ensure transparency, alignment, and momentum across all corporate development and strategic efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (CFA, CPA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in M&A advisory, corporate development, strategy consulting, or investment banking.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex insights clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple strategic projects and transactions under time pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset, team spirit, and strong stakeholder management capabilities.

Benefits:

  • At Riverty, you can be who you are. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment and a culture of appreciation, enriched by our employee networks.
  • Prioritize your health with supported sports and leisure activities.
  • Take advantage of our numerous training and development opportunities! Enhance your skills with training offered by the Bertelsmann University, language courses, or leadership training.
  • Benefit from our discounts on Bertelsmann products and financial incentives.
  • With our diverse work models, you can tailor your work to your preferences. Take advantage of mobile office, flexible working hours, and part-time models.
