The Corporate M&A department is at the heart of DHL Group's growth and transformation journey, driving high-impact mergers and acquisitions that shape the future of the business. This team plays a pivotal role in identifying and executing strategic opportunities, managing complex transactions, and unlocking value through insightful financial analysis and risk management.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled M&A Professional with 2–4 years of experience in M&A, ideally gained at a top-tier Investment Bank. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in deal-making, valuation, and strategic thinking to deliver results and to work on strategic deals that shape the future of our Group, combining your analytical expertise with dynamic project execution.

Main Tasks as M&A Expert:

  1. Deal Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement M&A strategies aligned with corporate objectives. Lead the end-to-end deal process, including target identification, due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration planning.
  2. Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify potential acquisition or divestiture opportunities.
  3. Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build and analyze financial models to assess the value and impact of potential transactions on business performance.
  4. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams (strategy, finance, tax, legal, etc.) and external advisors (investment banks, consultants, legal counsels) to ensure seamless transaction execution.
  5. Risk Assessment: Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks associated with M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance standards.
  6. Integration Planning: Support on post-merger integration processes to ensure synergies are realized and cultural alignment is achieved across merged entities.
  7. Reporting & Presentation: Prepare and deliver presentations to Senior Executives and Corporate Board members on M&A opportunities, deal progress, and strategic recommendations.
  8. Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends, M&A activity, and regulatory changes to proactively identify growth opportunities.

This role demands strategic vision, strong analytical capabilities, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

Professional Requirements:

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s in Finance, Business, or Economics; MBA or certifications (CFA/CPA) preferred.
  2. Experience: 2-4+ years in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate M&A.
  3. Technical Skills: Expertise in financial modeling, valuation methods, due diligence, and M&A legal/tax implications.
  4. Research Skills: Comprehensive market research and competitive analysis skills.
  5. Strategic Acumen: Ability to align M&A activities with corporate strategy, leveraging industry trends and market insights.
  6. Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging senior executives and stakeholders.
  7. Project Management: Experience in managing cross-functional teams and multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  8. Global Expertise: Familiarity with international transactions, regulatory frameworks, and cultural dynamics in cross-border deals.
  9. Language Skills: Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of German is desirable.
