As a Corporate Banking Compliance Manager AVP located in Frankfurt, you will be responsible for working closely with the Corporate Banking business teams, key stakeholders, and other members of the Global, European, and German Corporate Banking Compliance Team to support and enhance the Compliance culture within the organization by providing technical guidance, support, and tailored feedback on regulatory issues, specifically focused on a part of the overall Corporate Bank product set.

To be successful as a Corporate Banking Compliance Manager AVP, you should have experience with:

  • Compliance experience in a regulated firm or regulatory consultancy practice
  • Proactivity and the ability to lead engagement on behalf of the team at business governance forums, providing measured and proportionate checks and challenges to manage risk, escalating where appropriate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German

  • The ability to multi-task and manage projects while completing daily tasks and responsibilities

  • Understanding of the European regulatory framework around corporate banking, including PSD3, SEPA Instant Regulation, Cross Border Payments Regulation, MifID2, and Market Abuse

Purpose of the role

To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to ensure that the organization operates in compliance with Barclays' legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities.

Accountabilities

  • Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing, and systems.
  • Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation, or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
  • Conduct investigations of compliance risk events or breaches. Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
  • Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensuring that the bank’s internal policies are aligned with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams, legal, and relevant risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
  • Identification, investigation, and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes.
