METRO Corporate Controlling and Finance - Business Intelligence (BI) team is actively shaping METRO AG's Business Intelligence solution. This job offers you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic work environment and to experience the implementation of Business Intelligence solution in a multinational company.
You will play a vital role in increasing utilization of BI tools in METRO, helping reduce efforts in collecting / validating / preparing data, integrating KPIs in BI and establishing data governance. The role offers great learning opportunities. You will have independent functional responsibilities.
Your tasks:
- BI for Metro strategy: Support enabling effective strategy tracking and evaluation using BI solutions.
- Collaboration: Partner with Corporate Controlling team as a cross-departmental BI team, co-leading the BI requirements gathering and design process. Collaborate with IT and data owner teams to integrate data from various sources into a unified BI ecosystem.
- BI requirements collection: Support the integration of BI across METRO, including analyzing business needs, KPI documentation, dashboard design.
- Project and Task Management: Manage project plans, dependencies, decisions, roadblocks, escalations, and PMO support for the BI domain.
- Support Development Process: Apply BI best practices, help prioritize sprint deliverables.
- Testing: Perform testing and validation on Dataset & Dashboards, support data quality monitoring and ensure adherence to design standards.
- Communication: Ensure BI solutions cater to both current and future business requirements, balancing flexibility and performance. Advocate for BI best practices across the organization, driving adoption and fostering a data-driven culture.
- BI Enhancements: Identify analytical gaps, propose new BI improvements, and assist in designing and prototype testing of chosen solutions.
Qualifications
Your profile:
- Education: Master's degree (MBA) or comparable academic background in Finance, Controlling, BI technology, or mathematics.
- Experience: Relevant experience in Controlling, consulting, or similar roles, with strong knowledge of Finance, Controlling, and BI/data management. Participated in a BI Transformation project.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical abilities with a deep understanding of KPIs, data structures, and flows, including dimensions and granularity.
- Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, assertive, collaborative team player with a focus on results, adaptable to change, with strong emotional intelligence to navigate and resolve complex situations.
- Communication: Comfortable engaging with business leaders to understand strategies and reporting needs, providing support in analytical tasks.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, SAP BW, etc.), databases, OLAP, SQL, Excel, and ideally R or Python. Experienced in dashboard/report design and BI storytelling.
