Zusammenfassung

GE Vernova Grid Solutions seeks a Control & Protection Commissioning Engineer to support testing and commissioning of C&P systems for AC, FACTS and HVDC projects in Central Europe. You will execute commissioning activities on site, prepare documentation, and coordinate with internal teams and customers to meet safety, quality, and contract requirements.

You will liaise with design offices, PM teams, and third parties to deliver data, test plans, and reports while ensuring seamless communication

Qualifikationen

• Completed degree in electrical engineering or energy technology.
• Knowledge and experience in commissioning substation components (protection relays, HV substation control systems, SCADA, HMI, telecom).
• Fluent in English; willingness to travel on construction sites in Germany and abroad; German driver's license class B.

Due to the continued growth of our Grid business, we are looking for our next Control & Protection Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) within the Construction & Commissioning function to support the energy transition across Central Europe.

About the Role

The Constrol & Protection Commissioning Engineer will support the testing and commissioning of Control & Protection (C&P) systems for projects under execution within AC, FACTS & HVDC Projects.

You are in charge for the execution of commissioning activities, preparation of documentation, and coordination with internal teams and customer representatives to help ensure compliance with contractual, technical, quality, and safety requirements related to Testing & Commissioning.

You report to theRegional Commissioning Team Leader.

The position requires 100% construction site presence during the execution phase. AC & FACTS projects are located mainly in Germany, with a growing business in Poland. The HVDC sites are located in Germany and Netherlands as well as in Singapore, Duba i and Batam for the platform construction..

Mission Description

• Liaise with design office and PM team for timely issuance of data required for preparation of commissioning site works (specs, designs, BOQ, material lists, …)
• Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, includingITPs, checklists, test procedures, and reports.
• Perform and support functional testingofControl & Protection, SCADA, HMI, Automation and Telecom systems including secondary equipment and interfaces within substations and switchyards.
• Follow up, be the point of contact and assist in testing and commissioning done by 3rd parties under C&P relevant scope.
• Publish test reports and follow up completion of relevant quality documentation. Complying with the contract requirements and theproject Quality Plan
• Monitor, record, and report progress of commissioning activities on site.
• Ensure all C&P testing and commissioning activities are carried out in compliance withsafety requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders during site execution.

• You will contribute directly to theEnergy Transitionby helping deliverAC, FACTS, and HVDC projects successfully to our customers.
• You will support the commissioning of criticalControl & Protection systemsthat enable safe and reliable operation of substations and power transmission infrastructure.
• You will develop your technical expertise through hands‑on experience with state‑of‑the‑art grid technologies and site‑based project execution.

What You Bring

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.
• Sifnificant knowledge and experience in commissioning of substation components such as protection relays, HV substation control systems, SCADA, HMI, and telecommunication structure.
• Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlocking logic and communication schemes
• Fluent inEnglish; additional language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to work on construction sites in Germany and abroad, and optional assignments on offshore platforms.
• German driver's license class B
