About the role

Our client is a building and technical services organisation operating in Germany, looking to appoint a Construction Manager on a contract basis. The role covers the delivery of construction projects across electrical, mechanical and civil disciplines, and suits someone who is comfortable overseeing several trades on the same site and keeping them working together.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the execution of works on site, from mobilisation through to completion and handover. You will coordinate subcontractors and specialist suppliers, monitor progress against programme and budget, and make sure the works meet the required technical, quality and safety standards. Because the role spans electrical, mechanical and civil packages, a good understanding of how these disciplines interface is important.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, designers and the client’s site representatives, and you will be the main point of contact on site for day-to-day decisions. Rate, start date, contract duration, exact project location and working arrangements will be confirmed with candidates.

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager or Site Manager on projects involving electrical, mechanical and civil works
• Sound understanding of building services and construction processes across all three disciplines
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and delivering to programme and budget
• Strong health and safety awareness and knowledge of site safety requirements
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to manage multidisciplinary teams on site

• A technical qualification in engineering, construction or a related field
• Experience of industrial, commercial or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of German construction standards and regulations
• Experience of commissioning and handover on complex multi-trade projects
• German language skills
