I'm currently supporting a client in Germany who is seeking an experienced Freelance Construction Manager to oversee the construction of a steel production plant facility on a 12-24 month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the owner's on-site representative throughout construction, commissioning, and final handover.
• Monitor EPC contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Review construction schedules, provide detailed progress updates, and implement recovery plans where necessary.
• Oversee all construction disciplines, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process installation activities.
• Chair site meetings and maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and project handover activities.
• Identify and mitigate construction risks while ensuring HSE compliance in accordance with the Landesbauordnung (State Building Code).

Requirements:

• Construction Management experience on large industrial projects
• Background in steel, metals, petrochemical, energy, heavy industrial, or manufacturing facilities
• Strong EPC project delivery knowledge
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary construction teams and stakeholder interfaces
