Job Description:

SMS group S.p.A. is a company of the German group SMS, a worldwide leader in plant and machinery manufacturing for the steelmaking and non-ferrous material industry, with approximately 14,400 employees globally. The Italian branch has over 500 employees across Tarcento (Udine), San Donato Milanese (Milan), and Genoa. The company specializes in producing innovative, turn-key plants such as hot and cold rolling mills, process lines, reheating furnaces, heat treatment lines, long product rolling mills, meltshops, and continuous casting machines.

Our Center of Excellence "Implementation" is seeking a Construction Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate, coordinate, and oversee all construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide relevant information to the project core team, including the Project Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Engineering Manager, and Scheduler.
• Manage the processing of construction work packages during order execution on-site.
• Serve as the central point of contact during the construction phase.
• Coordinate construction work packages in consultation with the General Commissioning Manager.
• Monitor contractor compliance with the HSE plan, escalate significant non-conformities, and ensure all safety measures are implemented.
• Ensure proper preparation of construction work packages.
• Maintain compliance with legal and customer requirements, focusing on safe construction site operation and environmental considerations.

Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of professional experience in site management, specifically in constructing steel processing plants.
• Knowledge of site erection and commissioning activities for steel plants is preferred.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong teamwork, organizational skills, and flexibility.
• Willingness to travel worldwide.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle responsibilities responsibly.
• Open-minded to new approaches and innovations.
• Proficient in MS Office tools.
