Job summary

Madisonrecruitment is assisting a leading Belgian renewable energy group in Halle/Saale to recruit a Consolidation Specialist. You will drive IFRS conversions, group consolidation, and high-quality reporting for a multinational footprint.

In this role you will collaborate with auditors, finance teams across international entities and work on complex consolidation projects, building robust processes and maintaining IFRS compliance. Fluent English; German language a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years in consolidation, group reporting, or audit.
• Strong IFRS knowledge within consolidation.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch/French a plus.

Responsibilities

• IFRS Conversion & Group Consolidation.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare consolidated IFRS financial statements for multiple international group entities.
• Consolidation Process: Gather, process and validate financial data in consolidation software; report numbers to parent company and shareholders.
• Adjustments & Eliminations: Execute consolidation adjustments (GAAP-to-IFRS, IFRS 16, currency translation, equity method, deferred taxes).
• Analysis & Advisory: Analyze consolidated figures, explain variances, and report findings.
• Audit & Compliance: Act as primary contact for external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
• Quality Control: Monitor changes in IFRS standards; keep accounting manual, policies, and internal controls up to date.
• Projects, Systems & Business Partnering: Manage special finance projects (new entities, M&A, international expansion, future consolidation design).
• Consolidation Software: Involvement in implementation, support, and optimization of group consolidation tool.
• Reporting: Prepare reports for management, Board, and external stakeholders (semi-annual and annual).
• Support: Serve as key contact for finance departments and coach local teams on IFRS and reporting.

To strengthen the finance team at headquarters, we are looking for a Consolidation Specialist who wants to play a key role in the IFRS conversion, group consolidation, and the further development of reporting processes.

Your Responsibilities Are Divided Into Two Main Pillars

• IFRS Conversion & Group Consolidation
• Financial Reporting: Preparing consolidated financial statements under IFRS for multiple international group entities (with the support of external advisors).
• Consolidation Process: Gathering, processing, and validating financial data in consolidation software and reporting numbers to the parent company and shareholders.
• Adjustments & Eliminations: Executing and documenting consolidation adjustments and eliminations (GAAP-to-IFRS, IFRS 16, currency translation, equity method, deferred taxes, etc.).
• Analysis & Advisory: Analyzing consolidated figures, explaining variances, and reporting findings.
• Audit & Compliance: Acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
• Quality Control: Monitoring changes in IFRS standards and keeping the accounting manual, policies, and internal control procedures up to date.

• Project Management: Managing special finance projects (e.g., establishing entities in new countries, supporting M&A transactions, international expansion, and designing future consolidation processes).

• Reporting: Preparing reports for management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders (semi-annual and annual reporting).
• Support: Serving as a key contact for finance departments across the group and coaching local teams on IFRS and reporting.

Profiel

Who are we looking for?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in consolidation, group reporting, or audit.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, including practical experience applying these standards within a consolidation context.
• Strong proficiency in Excel is a must.
• Sharp analytical insight.
• Ownership attitude: proactive, self-starter, keen to delve into topics and help build the business.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with auditors, executive management, and international finance teams.
• Fluent in English. Proficiency in Dutch and/or French is a significant asset.
