Job Summary

The Community & Environmental Impact Manager leads engagement with local stakeholders and ensures that BaRupOn’s projects meet environmental, social, and community expectations. This role integrates public engagement, environmental stewardship, and impact reporting to align project goals with long-term sustainability and community benefit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead stakeholder outreach and community relations in project regions, including public forums and local partnerships
  • Coordinate social impact assessments, community benefit agreements (CBAs), and local hiring initiatives
  • Oversee environmental impact assessments (EIAs), sustainability audits, and mitigation plans
  • Ensure compliance with NEPA, CEQA, and other environmental review processes
  • Work with permitting and regulatory teams to align community priorities with legal requirements
  • Serve as liaison to environmental NGOs, tribal councils, advocacy groups, and local agencies
  • Develop reporting frameworks for ESG, environmental justice, and community outcomes
  • Support grant applications or funding tied to community and environmental benefit
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in community engagement, environmental impact, or sustainability roles
  • Knowledge of environmental permitting (CEQA, NEPA), EIS/EIR processes, and public engagement standards
  • Experience working with rural communities, tribal groups, or economically disadvantaged regions
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, and public speaking skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites and lead field-based community sessions
Preferred Skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish or local community language) a plus
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, or industrial project settings
  • Familiarity with federal and state environmental justice policies and metrics
  • Understanding of ESG standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD) and DEI reporting frameworks
