Team:

The Public Affairs & Regulatory Strategy Manager, Capital Markets, will support the execution of the team’s objectives within DWS Communications, Brand & CSR, focusing on developments in global capital markets regulation.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the development and implementation of engagement plans to enhance DWS’ visibility as a leading voice in asset management among public sector stakeholders.
  2. Leading DWS’s lobbying efforts on capital markets topics in key European hubs, focusing on frameworks like EMIR, MAR/MAD, MiFIR/MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD, and PRIIPS, as well as private retirement plans such as the “Riester” in Germany.
  3. Executing DWS’s engagement with public sector regulators, ensuring consistent messaging and narrative setting as part of the global outreach plan.
  4. Collaborating closely with Investment, Product, and Client Coverage divisions to align views and prioritize policy issues.
  5. Managing engagement and messaging calendars in coordination with the Communications & Marketing strategy.
  6. Advising DWS’s business divisions on public sector matters related to capital markets regulation.
  7. Liaising with regional and local associations to ensure a unified policy voice, as coordinated with the Head of Public Affairs & Regulatory Strategy.
  8. Building networks with peer regulatory-policy experts in relevant trade bodies such as BVI, EFAMA, ALFI, TheIA, and SIFMA.
  9. Developing processes for updating and communicating regulatory developments within DWS.
  10. Coordinating DWS’s responses to consultations in relevant policy areas.
  11. Leveraging communication channels across departments to enhance outreach.

Your qualifications and skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  2. Relevant experience in capital markets rules and public/regulatory affairs.
  3. Knowledge of financial-market topics from a regulatory and legal perspective.
  4. Ability to simplify complex topics for communication strategies.
  5. Self-motivated, creative, strategic, and operational thinker.
  6. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including with C-suite executives.
  7. Existing network within the industry, public sector, or lobbying scene.
  8. Ability to work in fast-paced, global, and flat organizational environments.
  9. Excellent written and oral communication skills, collaborative team player.
  10. Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  11. Willingness and ability to travel across Europe (Berlin, Brussels, Paris) as needed.
