Job Description:
Our life insurance client is adding a Commissions Specialist to their team on a consulting basis. The day-to-day operations of commission accounting are inclusive of all commission/debt balance payment processing for agents and independent marketing organizations across multiple distribution channels. The role requires significant interaction with agents/agencies and internal areas.
Responsibilities:- Review all commission payments on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis, and escalate as needed.
- Review commission calculations associated with all distribution channels and product lines associated with the commission schedules and deal code roadmaps.
- Work directly with agents and assist Manager/AVP to resolve commission questions and/or discrepancies timely.
- Review and properly manage commission flow, and ensure commissions are paid and commission statements are posted on the portal.
- Handle demand noticesand debit balance notification which includes reporting and removing accounts from Vector One and assessing who to send to the collection agency.
- Coordinate the timely roll up of debt balances and process the roll ups with our TPA.
- Research and update the agent’s demographics for returned checks, change payment mode and correspond with the agents to get banking and/or addresses updated to resend payment.
- Handle all EFT returns from treasury and our TPA, to determine if commissions should be paid or applied toward debit balance.
- Handle agent calls and email inquiries regarding contracting, licensing, appointments, commissions/advance payments.
Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Minimum of two years customer service or administrative related experience in a fast-paced service industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Outlook and the ability to easily learn new applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Prior sales and/or business experience in the financial services industry (preferred)
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong desire to help others
- Ability to effectively interact/interface with external parties – agents, distributorsand vendors
- Understanding of commission schedules
Pay Range:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $21.33 per hour, based on experience.
