To meet the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), we are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the team.

Role Overview

Are you experienced in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning? As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with building and supporting the operations of AWS owned data centres and Colocation facilities. The AWS Commissioning team (ACx) evaluates and manages construction quality to meet customer requirements according to engineering designs.

Travel Requirements

- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for approximately 50% of the time.
- Personal transportation required for off-site meetings and visits; reimbursed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support vendors, contractors, and teams involved in constructing and commissioning systems such as:

• High, Medium, and Low Voltage Power Systems
• Generators
• UPS Systems
• HVAC
• Chilled Water Systems
• Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
• Testing and Balancing
• Pumps and Hydronic Systems

Participate in scheduling, test script development, design, and planning of projects.

Review component submittals, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and perform system and integrated system testing.

Audit commissioning activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety standards.

Provide weekly reports on project statuses and lessons learned to improve processes.

About the Team

The AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) team manages the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers and critical equipment to ensure continuous service availability. The Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) comprises experienced engineers and project managers focused on quality and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Minimum

• 5+ years experience in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure, preferably with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 3+ years commissioning experience.
• Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or commissioning-specific courses.

Preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; SharePoint experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and stress management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and develop test procedures based on design and equipment submittals.
