Freelance Commissioning Engineer - Germany

We are currently looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support an upcoming large-scale project in Germany.

The role will involve the testing, commissioning, energisation and handover of complex electrical and site systems, working closely with engineering teams, contractors and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out commissioning and testing activities
• Commission switchgear, transformers and associated equipment
• Perform FAT, SAT, functional testing and site acceptance activities
• Support energisation, start-up and handover
• Troubleshoot technical and commissioning issues
• Review commissioning procedures, test documentation and punch lists
• Coordinate with contractors, engineering teams and project stakeholders
• Support protection, control and SCADA-related activities where required
• Ensure commissioning work is completed safely and in line with project requirements

We are interested in speaking with engineers from backgrounds including power generation, substations, renewables, BESS, data centres, refinery, petrochemical and wider industrial projects.

Experience with HV / MV systems, electrical infrastructure, grid connection, testing, energisation and complex site commissioning would be highly relevant.
